Reader comment on item: Anti-Semitism Evolves

While it is true that "Every generation of religionists (and this is common to most religions) have claimed that the past misdeeds and transgressions came from some sort of misunderstanding of the true faith," it is not gibberish, and I would challenge B to find anything within the context in the Old Testament, or New Testament, that would support the persecution of the Jewish people.

The persecution brought about about by secularists or islamists is a logical outworking of their belief system, but utterly ilogical and detached from a Biblical world view.

As to the founding fathers' intent, B is totally ignorant of their views, and otherwise he would see that the intent was the prohibition on the Federal government from getting involved one way or the other (the phrase, separation of church and state is not found anywhere in the constitution), and instead left up to individual states to determine their religious nature. Read a few state constitutions and you will come to realise that some did have a religious test for holding office, which by the way were never held to be unconstitutional.

There is no denying that great suffering was brought on the Jews in the name of Christianity, but again such can never be exused in light of Scripture, and in fact the same persecution was brought upon others who called themselves Christian, as was acknowledged by B, for their differing views, not bowing to a man who calls himself the pope etc.

I, a Christian, will go so far as to claim that those who persecute the Jews are not Christians and will be judged for their treatment of JESUS CHRIST'S bretheren, the Jews, as it is stated in the New Testament.
GOD bless B.
