Response to MichaelReader comment on item: Anti-Semitism Evolves Submitted by Dennis Moran (United States), Mar 10, 2005 at 12:06 Rome was not the seat of Christianity at the time the New Testament was written, it was the seat of Pantheism. Christianity was a movement condemned by Rome, which is why Rome executed over a million Christians, including literally throwing many alive to lions. The Romans crucified the Apostle Paul, who had written half of the New Testament. The last surviving Apostle was John, who died in a Roman prison. John was among those who had recorded that the Roman Procurator, Pilate, gave to execution a man that Pilate himself believed to be innocent, as a political expedient for Rome.. Rome didn't "approve" of anything Christian for 300 years, until the Rule of Constantine, and imagining a Christian 'deal' with the Ceasars is... As for Jewish involvement in the killing of Christ, the parties that Pilate was knuckling to happened to be Jewish. They were relatively small in number, and were representing themselves, not the writings of Moses, or Isaiah. David knew exactly what was going to happen to Christ, who would be of his own lineage, and he wrote it all down in the 22nd Psalm. As for Christ not saving himself, that was precisely the argument that Christ, as yet G-d, told David that people were going to use against him. And the word of G-d does not return to Him void. And so now, we have the rise of Christian Zionisim, whose time has finally come, and to which I am a Gentile adherent. The original Chosen of God have never stopped being that, any more than the promise of Israel to the Jews as a land forever will ever be negated. Shalom...
