Corruptions of Biblical Faith

Reader comment on item: [The Islamist-Leftist] Allied Menace

Submitted by Kepha Hor (United States), Nov 2, 2012 at 22:47

Hatred of Jesus Christ (the real one: not the fictitious one of the Qur'an and Hadith) unites the Marxist and the Muslim. Marx's whole idea of "stages" to history is just the Prophetic religion of the Old and New Testaments stripped of its belief in God. Without Augustine of Hippo's biblically informed critique of the Hellenistic cyclical view of history influencing the West from 411 A.D. onwards, Marx's writings and the whole idea of linear progress in history would have been impossible.

Islam is a clumsy attempt by an Arab warlord to forge the deed to the biblical tradition--and it is plausible only if people are ignorant of the Old and New Testaments.

Daniel Pipes replies:

How does one distinguish the "real" from the "fictitious" Jesus?

Do note my book review at http://www.danielpipes.org/57/the-muslim-jesus-sayings-and-stories-in-islamic-literature, where I quote Tarif Khalidi: "In his Muslim habitat, Jesus becomes an object of intense devotion, reverence, and love."
