Theoreticians undermine the opponent's foundations

Reader comment on item: Islamism 2.0

Submitted by B.N.Gururaj (India), Dec 8, 2009 at 08:01

More than anyone, Muslims who advocate violence know that in the final analysis, violent attacks on other civilizations begets only further hatred but does not advance Islam's cause. When Islamists commence adopting soft approach, start talking reasonably, but never yielding an inch about the islamic ideology, that is more dangerous than Ladens and Talibans put together. If one observes the manner in which Islamism is gaining toe hold now, and foot hold next in one country after the other in the West, be it distinctive dress code, or traditional education, or places of prayer that stand out like crow amongst fan-tailed pigeons, it is clear that soft face of islam is gaining acceptance in the West. This approach weakens the resolve of the Hosts to hold on to their traditions and culture. It is much like getting used to incremental dosages of air pollution. As far as the East is concerned, the Hard faced Islam has already established itself quite permanently before the world had learnt to distinguish between violent Islam and Islam of subterfuge. The remedy lies in exposing Islam for what it is: It is not a religion, but a political ideology, and a backward one at that. An ideology that seeks to spread medievalism and ignorance amongst the populace. Instead of engaging in gainful education, employment, research etc, society under Islam promotes madrasas, sharia, and five pillars of Islam, which will not address the issues such as poverty, health etc. Allowing Islam to march ahead will be tantamount to reversing the progress of civilization
