Reader comment on item: Islamism 2.0
in response to reader comment: it is culture

Mr.Havas - while you agree with one writer's opinions that:

" My country and many other western countries have raped the planet of much of its resources while returning very little of any value, and turning its back on devastations of all kinds."

You still fail to acknowledge that without the input of western culture - most societies would still be living in a feudal system with little to no technology, billions of people still doing backbreaking work and living short, miserable lives. Of course there have been some excesses in amassing materials but these have all led to the development of technologies and systems and processes that ultimately help all of mankind.

"...this is exactly what ı try to say. but ı also add to this that it is the biggest crime of humankind, "

What is the biggest crime ? Modern medicine, modern communications and transport technologies , education systems, fair legal systems, democractic voting systems etc? Everything that western society has encountered, internally and externally - good and bad - has propelled it forward to the position it is in today. It's not perfect but a damn sight better than any alternatives you can point to. The biggest crime is not developing things and making mistakes along the way - thebiggest crime is fatalisticly doing nothing.

"...so much that it is uncomparable what few so called islamist terrorist s do ."

Why do you insist on using the phrase 'so called islamist terrorists" - what is 'so called' about flying planes into buildings or blowing up railway stations or packed restaurants or in markets?. At what stage does it become "actual'" rather than 'so called'?

"if someday we all can live in a fair world with no borders or loose borders without visas,in a more multicultural place, with all humans having the same chance to live decent lifes, than maybe we can have mosques and churches together. "

I don't want to live in a world with no borders or loose borders without visas while their are still people in this world who think they are enlightened because they are muslims and think that everyone else are second class. and who are determined to bring about dar Al Islam at any cost. Westerners will never live under sharia - the more muslims try to bring that about the stronger the resentment they engender.

"so people in a civilised way can choose the one better for them." - yes it's all about choice isn't it - giving people the wonderful choices we see they have in muslim countries.

"turkey, my country is denied from eu only for being a muslim country.this is very important."

It is very important that member countries reach certain standards - particularly in economic managment - and in following human rights conventions which are in place and accepted throughout the EU. Turkey has failed to meet those standards. The fact that it is a de facto muslim country is not the primary reason for Turkey's non -admission - though it can easily be argued the effects of islam have led to the conditions Turkey currently experiences. A note from someone who has some insight into Islam - made 6 years ago - but little positive change has occurred in the interim: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/1824455.stm

"the correct method for humans must be to love and help each other. try to understand each other.than we will realise that it is not so important allah or god. we are created by the same holy power. we must be good, not bad and spread love around us. "

Cooperation helps all parties but too often the cooperators have hidden agendas. Only a fool would assist those who plot for their societies' destruction. So until all ulterior motives are dispense with - I can't see any mass movements bringing Muslims and non-muslms together to benefit each other's societies. Realisation of the futility of war and hostility etc is an individual insight - and it will happen one on one.

"why does mr pipes and many others are so much scared of us as if we are the secret evils of this world ."

It's not the people -it's the jekkyl and Hyde nature of the primitive and anachronistic world view that generates evil.
