Turkey's reducing of the Hadith's...

Dr. Pipes, I'd be interested to know if the work being done in Turkey to reduce the number of Hadith's to those that are relevant to Muslims in a modern world where they address the issues of the 'infidels, changing of ones religions, role of women, etc.' will both modernize a 'Sharia' and effectively reforming it. The notion that when Muslim men realize the power their women can bring them and their families when they integrate into the work force, etc. Could this be similar to the Protestant reformation which happened in its 14th century of operation?
