I don't like the word "Islamism"

Reader comment on item: Islamism 2.0

Submitted by sheik yer'mami (Australia), Nov 24, 2009 at 20:56

Leading Muslims tell us that there is no such thing. There is no 'militant/radical/ fundamentalist' Islam or Islamism, there is only Islam. Muslims who take their religion seriously will inevitably become radicals because the doctrine is radical. Islam seeks world domination and terror is one of many means to achieve it. Others are deception, infiltration, subversion, denial (taqiyya) We should not try to make excuses for them or try to separate the 'radicals' from the 'moderates'- I don't think even the Muslims could do that if they wanted to. What we need is a radical approach instead of pussy-footing around this whole thing with self inflicted stupidity and political correctness.
