The West must observe and prevent Islamist envelopment, whatever the versions, 1.0, 2.0 or 1.5!

Reader comment on item: Islamism 2.0

It is clear that Islamists have a doctrine, multiple strategies, various tactics and well defined targets. The West must enhance its awareness and find its own methods of defending itself. Apart from being dangerous to its own kin, the everyday Muslim, Islamism is also an imminent danger to such Western societies that contain an important number of Muslims, among them a certain number of Islamists. Even if the largesse of democracy allows for every kind of opinion, its rights and freedoms cannot be used to cut "the branch" it is sitting on.

The West is already being watchful and stopping individuals that become too threatening. There is also another method and that would be telling Islamist groups candidly and very seriously " Do not touch us in our territories, leave us alone". If those warned choose wisdom it is a step in the right direction. What would the alternative be otherwise?
