Islamism 1.0 the virus then Islamism 2.0 is the anti-virusReader comment on item: Islamism 2.0 Submitted by Andy (United Kingdom), Dec 30, 2009 at 01:54 Islamism 2.0, the attempt to achieve the goals of Islamism 1.0 but through non-violent means. Seems like Islamism is a software company that realises a virus, called 1.0 and then tries to sell us the anti-virus software 2.0 to fix it. After the 7/7 bombing in the UK, a leading 2.0 figure announce that terrorist attacks by British Muslims could be stopped simply by adopting Shari law in the UK. Hizb ut-Tahrir is a major worry, they seek to bring back the death penalty to the UK and they have a lot of support among the 'Stop The War Coalition' members such as the Socialist Workers Party and Respect. To this end they are also allied with (although they would never admit it) the BMP. But they don't want the death penalty for just murders etc, they want it those who are guilty of apostasy and adultery. They can gain this support from so called liberals due to the fact they are so intent on showing religious tolerance. This is why they won't criticise Iran for having a penal code which allows for girl as young as 9 to face the death penalty for adultery.
