Intimidating the West, from Rushdie to Benedict - At the end of this article you have raised a question that why there is so much muslim violence in India whenever there is some international debate on Islam. The question is raised from some general naievity of Western media and intellectuals about the jehadi activities of muslims in India.

India is the second largest country with muslim population. They are growing there with alarming rate. West has never given any importance to the islamic activities in India and in Bangladesh. After 9/11 and US attack on Afghanistan, there were numerous shows on islamic activities about Afghanistan in BBC or CNN (which we can see here), none mentioned the hijacking of Indian airlines flight to Afghanistan and holding it there for several weeks. West never bothered that in Indian state of Kashmir, nearly all hindus have been thrown out by the muslims, hindus have been refugees in their own country. Probably because of hindus being considered as pagans in west and also millions of hindus living in USA, UK and Europe never have been involved in any violent activities, West consider that peaceful hindus can be expended to appease the jehadi muslims. Same is the case in Bangladesh.

Muslims in India are very much a part of international jehadi movement like most of muslims elsewhere and therfore violent activities in India by muslims is a common incident. Only West has ignored it always.
