Intimidation comes in many forms. People who don't necessarily fear for their lives might quake in their boots if someone thought their views were politically incorrect.

You rightly point out that many people who might have taken Muslim grievances seriously are now turning a deaf ear as Islamist violence and its targets grow ever more extreme. That doesn't change the fact that a large number of people are afraid to speak out for fear of being labeled politically incorrect. Many more have agendas of their own and will happily support the Islamists because they both have the same goal.

You also point out that Islam (or a subset of its adherents) is bent on world domination. Until everyone else (including Muslims who only want to live in peace) wakes up to that fact , we are all in danger. Our freedoms are being turned against us. We can't admit that because we prefer to believe all people think as we do and share our desire for freedom and peaceful coexistence. The Islamists show us every day just how wrong we are, but we still can't accept it..
