Reader comment on item: Intimidating the West, from Rushdie to Benedict
in response to reader comment: If it's in the law, do it!

If the UN is corrupt why should I believe anything they say? I guess you'll believe anything from them that will suit your ears. You'll certainly not believe anything that's anti-Israeli. If you lie in a company, you get fired, and I fired the UN a long time ago.

I know you don't want the sharia law imposed in the US, even though I argue is more of an issue that Muslims want their religion to be respected just as Jews do, but why do you care whether other countries impose the sharia law? The way you live and want to live is not the only way to live.

In addition, from what I've read about the honor killings and gang rapes in Pakistan is that they are not sanctioned by Pakistani law. It is equivalent to some gang violence in Camden, NJ or Detroit. The US has enough trouble enforcing laws in the US, so why do you expect some third world country to do so? And do you really care about the "human rights violations" in the Muslim world?

Are you really lover of humanity? Forget about the Palestinians--they're never right about anything. I have yet to hear anything from any "conservative" blog about the treatment of the untouchables in India. I have to wonder whether they'd care about the honor killings in Pakistan if the Pakistanis were Hindus.
