in response to reader comment: to Nabil Ahmad: ANY RELIGION!!

To Moshe:

I'm glad that you don't think that the problem is with Islam. But it seems to me that you haven't read all of my previous posts on this forum, and so I won't repeat myself here.

So please tell me how the religion of the Old Testament, with its own share of violent verses, can be seen to be "better than Islam"! Have you read the Book of Deuteronomy?? And it seems like the punishment for idolatry is death, if you can follow the precedent set by the prophet Moses and his follower Joshua.

Anyone who has read my past posts on this forum knows well that I am not an apologist for terrorists and hate-mongerers but either you haven't read them or they have gone over your head.

If the Qur'an is a product of illiteracy, how could it be a forgery of the Bible if Muhammad couldn't even read it in the first place? You're contradicting yourself here.

My faith in Islam is anything but blind. I don't believe that faith in God should be blind to begin with. The Qur'an challenges one to think. Any sacred scripture, whether it's the Bible or the Qur'an or the Geeta can be misinterpreted and turned into a manual of terrorism and supremacism.

I see Islam as a Universal faith and all other religions as variants of Islam, and that the only purpose of religion is to worship the One True God and to obey His commandments. I also believe that, according to the Qur'an, there is to be no compulsion in religion. Muhammad himself told his followers near the end of his life, "Do not oppress and do not be oppressed". Any Muslim who doesn't follow these simple rules and engages in acts of war and terrorism against peaceful people, whether they are Muslims or not, is a dangerous fanatic and a hypocrite (Osama bin Laden and his followers are examples of such) and should be wiped out.
