To "Infidel":

Please feel free to draw whatever conclusions you may wish to afer reading the following verses from the Qur'an, translation courtesy of Mohammed Marmaduke Pikhthall. If you're not satisfied, I would recommend that you read the entire Qur'an cover to cover for yourself. Like I said before, we are all free to believe in what we wish to believe in.

Now does 2:106 convince you that I am wrong and that you are right? If it does, it demonstrates how little you know about Islam and its early history and the history of the revelations of the Qur'an. The following verses, as well as others not mentioned here, makes it clear to me that I have to accept the Qur'an in its entirety and not show preference over certain verses over others. I believe that those verses which were abrogated by God have no reason for being in the Qur'an! I strongly believe that the whole concept of "Abrogation" is tantamount to blasphemy. Since you are obviously not a Muslim, you cannot be guilty of this. But as for those who claim to be Muslims and cling to this outrageously blasphemous concept, I say: If you are right, then wy is it that you offer nothing but death and suffering to the rest of the world? Why weren't non-Muslims wiped out in the lands occupied by Arab Muslims early on?

As far as I am concerned, "Infidel", you can go on cheerleading this concept for as long as you want, for as long as God allows you to, whether you believe in Him or not. And if you do, I'll just lump you along with "Muslim" extremists. As far as I am concerned, I am no threat to civilized society. But they are, and the likes of you will be, too, for agreeing with them about the central concepts of Islam. Islamic extremism is all about political ideology disguised as a religion.

I strongly believe that all religion is from God and is about worshipping God. An individual's politics are supposed to be dictated by his/her religious beliefs and/or philosophies, but in the case of the extremists, it's the other way around.

2:106
Such of Our revelations as We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring (in place) one better or the like thereof. Knowest thou not that Allah is Able to do all things?

2:176
That is because Allah hath revealed the Scripture with truth. Lo! Those who find (a cause of) disagreement in the Scripture are in open schism.

2:256
There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejecteth false deities and believeth in Allah hath grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower.

3:7
He it is Who hath revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations - They are the substance of the Book - and others (which are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissention by seeking to explain it. None knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only men of understanding really heed.

3:152
But those who believe in Allah and His messengers and make no distinction between any of them, unto them Allah will give their wages; and Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful.

15:89-93
And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, such as We send down for those who make division, those who break the Qur'an into parts. Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, of what they used to do.

4:136
O ye who believe! Believe in Allah and His messenger and the Scripture which He hath revealed unto His messenger, and the Scripture which He revealed aforetime. Whoso disbelieveth in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers and the Last Day, he verily hath wandered far astray.
