Graham, you are wondering 'If there were no antisemitism would there be any Jews.?'

You can rest assured, as fantastic as it may sound, EVEN (!!!) without Anti-Semitism THERE WOULD BE MANY MANY JEWS!... And the world would be a much better place to live in. You "thankfully" note that "we can find more Jews willing to die for their religion than those ready to live it". Perhaps you should "thankfully" pay attention that this is true more or less with regard to any of the other religions too. The big difference however between Judaism and its "daughter" religions Christianity and Islam becomes evident when you consider the values, practices, and standards of behavior of their zealots.

Throughout history, the inhuman blood thirst and cruelty against "non-believers" of the Christians and the Muslims was more or less proportional to their piety and "faith". This was and is in sharp contrast with devout religious Jews who have always devoted their zeal only and exclusively to learning and studying the depth of God's Word.
