I don't know which is a better analysis - yours or D. Pipes. Excellent, simply excellent. I think you have figured out this misfit, confused murderer.

He rejected everything that is America in his quest to "prove" his "purity" of Muslim heart.

The United States was simply too complex for him and he may have lived a more peaceful life in his native country.

There, everyone would confirm his rigid Muslim belief structure and he would be, shall we say...unmolested by the American belief that everyone has value, including Jews.

To this person, freedom meant the freedom to kill.

He didn't belong here. I wonder how many like him are there here?
