Principle does not preclude nuance when it comes to analyzing the current global Islamic identity crisis. This is not a Liberal vs. Conservative debate but is one of reasonable people who recognize and understand the import of the threat to civilization vs. those that believe that tolerance of any system is "open minded" even one which threatens your very right to operate with an open mind. While I do not advocate violence against any citizen regardless of their belief system (religious or otherwise) that does not mean that I do not advocate critical analysis and legitimate and thoughtful inquiry of movements that impinge on Liberty, Freedom, Democracy and Capitalism itself.

For President Obama and Mayor Mike Bloomberg to suggest that Islam is simply a religion that should be free from any critical inquiry by enlightened and engaged citizens is incredibly naive, disingenuous if not totally manipulative.People forget that Neville Chamberlain was once held in higher regard than Winston Churchill. I suspect that the politically correct liberal elitist crowd that I felt I was once a part of may come to benefit in time from the thoughtful stance and work of Pipes and Wilders. That so many of my liberal friends seem to champion the greatest oppressors of women, homosexuals and artists is mind boggling to say the least. Where is the moral outrage for the threatened beheadings, stoning of women and hanging of gays? Is there a Fatwa that is unacceptable and deserves their attention?
