I agree with prof Pipes except that I think Islam t is is not a religion but a militant political ideology similar to Nazism in the last century. Every Muslim suicide bomber is a fathful Muslim who simply takes seriously tenets of Islam. The same was true when Catholic church in the Middle Ages was burning heretics. They followed literally what the bible told them to do.Many politicians including prof Pipes try to be politically correct saying that they do not blame religion but Islamists extremists. But the Islamist extremist is rooted in Islam. It is not an independent ideology. A German SSman who was shooting Jews during the WWII was not an extremist he was following the Nazi ideology including Mein Kampf. If Muslims want to become peaceful members of humanity they have to revise Quran .

Ideally, we need more people becoming rational and rejecting the obsolete religions that have become the biggest curse for all civilizations. For example, If we all reject religions there will be no reason to fight for Jerusalem that would become just an ordinary small city where everybody could live peacefully. There will be no martryrdom, paradise, Christian solders, holy places ,sacred temples, churches and mosques , crusades and all relates nonsense hurting us for centuries .Is it reasonable to kill fighting for a holy place where an imaginary prophet was taken to an imaginary heaven? The solution is difficult but clear. Religions must disappear for humanity to survive. Amen.
