Reader comment on item: Why I Stand with Geert Wilders

Submitted by Wilbert (Germany), Jan 21, 2010 at 11:48

Thank you for your supporting words. It is surely a good thing to feel foreign support about the freedom of speech in my mother country the Netherlands.

Like a lot of dutch people we are sick of the polital correctness. Speaking about the problems caused by islamic / moslim entities was in holland for many years by our political leaders stamped and marked as being fascistic, and is even today. Mr. Wilders has decided to fight for his european values and is by left-wing press often described as extreme which he is definitely not. He is as you very well described a conservative liberterian with is in the USA for exemple totally normal as being republican.

We now have in the Netherlands one of the most ridiculous processes ever seen after WWII in europe. I believe it is a political trial trying to stop him. For me the atmosfere in the netherlands is almost like a time bomb. After the killing of Fortuyn and van Gogh (God do I miss THEO!) it doesn't need much to let the worst happen. I hope I'm wrong.
