in response to reader comment: Geert Wilders on immigration

Anonymous wries:

""An immigration ban of five years for immigrants from non-western countries. Foreign residents will no longer have the right to vote in municipal elections."

This is where I would be unhappy with his views . Would he be against Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Indian immigrants who have nothing to do with Islam?"

My answer to that would be 'very possibly'. If you've ever been to Holland - you'll realise what a small country it is. There's not a great deal of room for the Dutch to expand into - let alone anyone else. They have a right to decide who they want in their contry - subject now of course to EU interference. I don't see it as xenophobia on the part of Dutch - they are already one of the most cosmopolitan countries. They just need the sopace and time to absorb the massive changes they already have experienced.
