My point

Reader comment on item: Why I Stand with Geert Wilders
in response to reader comment: colour nothing to do with it.

I am going by the wiki article which says that Wilders wants to halt immigration of ALL non-Western people for 5 yrs. I find that very suspicious and impractical and frankly racist.
I totally understand if he were to simply say "let us ban all muslims (also the practice of Islam) from any country to migrate to Holland". Now that simple statement makes sense and is a logical approach. Instead he has widened his net to include people from any non-western country: Brazilians, Peruvians, Indians, Sri Lankans, Japanese, Chileans, Mexicans etc all who have NO relation to Islam will be barred from migrating to Holland. In response to this you said that "Holland is crowded and has no space to accomodate more immigrants". This is also fine if this indeed is the case. All Wilders has to do is to say that he opposes all immigration from ALL countries for space reasons, Perfectly understandable, but this isn't what he is saying - he is singling out people from NON-western countries!
I hope you understand what I am saying - actions are more important than words and while I understand that Wilders is legitimately against Islam he is not singling out Islam when he says "ALL non-westerners". And if he uses his legitimate ire against Islam as a cover to discriminate against other non-western people - I am sorry he is nothing other than a xenophobe. Note that the KKK don't like muslims and Islam too - doesn't mean they are our friends.
