Reader comment on item: The Islamic States of America?

Submitted by John W McGinley (United States), Sep 24, 2004 at 16:51

All I reaaly require of Islam is the renouncing of massive terroristic attacks on civilian populations. If Islam -- without such violence -- ends up coming across as attractive to more and more Americans, so what? If Americans become so passive and remain igorant of the dangers of a, so to speak, contitutional abrogation of the constitution, then maybe the change would be for the better.

Right now my only concern with Islam is checking the treat of massive terorism against our country and Israel. What may or may not come by the end of the century -- provided it is done peaceably and without violence -- does not concern me that much. One could on religious gorunds -- Christian, Jewish, or Islamic -- make a scathing critique of the American way of life. It certainly stands in need of a geat infusion of spiritual energy. and who knows? It may really be the case that Islam is the divinely ordained religion of the Gentiles. Things will transpire according to roads and pathways unknown to us at the present time.

In the meantime, let's keep our guard up and keep the gun-powder dry.
