Reader comment on item: The Islamic States of America?
in response to reader comment: Surah El-Hashr for Oliver

Submitted by Oliver (United States), Nov 9, 2007 at 21:46

I understand that when the surahs are recited in arabic they are very melodic and 'even' beautiful to the ear.

But to ascribe these platitudes the the god that inspired the decapitation of 600 -900 Jews (the Ture God's chosen people) in Medina is beyond my ability of reason.

I was hoping for a teaching that would inspire an act mercy or loving kindness toward an undeserving person - to me that would be beautiful.

Can you help Susan out ...
