Myopic America vs. Visionary Islam

Reader comment on item: The Islamic States of America?

Submitted by Howard E. Cook (United States), Nov 24, 2009 at 23:25

It is abundantly evident that economic and political forces are moving mankind, willy nilly, into a global civilization. But our American intellectual and political establishment, myopically preoccupied with trivial culture wars, fails to recognize the scope of the Islamic menace. Why? Out of ignorange? Sheer ignorance of history?
Islam's war against Western civilization did not begin in lower Manhattan. Nor will it end in Fort Hood, Texas. Islam's bloody borders go back to historic Spain, Tours, Vienna, Jerusalem. Islam is not myopic. Islamd is possessed by a global vision. Islam divides the world into the house of war and the house of submission. And submission means what the allies in WWII meant by unconditional surrender.
And if Islam's plan of attack on 9/11 had succeeded, the White House and the Pentagon would have crumbled along with the World Trade Center. And we would be in the house of surrender, not the house of myopic sentimentality.
The issues are cosmic. This war with Islam is a titanic clash of civilizations. Promethean guts are called for, not myopic sentimentality. Reading a story about "my pet goat" to school children will not suffice. For a cosmic view see the Abstract in BE DONE ON EARTH, my novel of ideas.
