Some clarifications

Reader comment on item: The Islamic States of America?
in response to reader comment: Islam is not a religion

Hello, I'm a muslim who was raised in a muslim country, I did go to a public school too. I just wanted to clarify something. When you go to a public school in the US, you should expect some US history courses and some biblical teachings, the same applies to islamic countries with a muslim majority. There is nothing wrong about that. On the other hand, FYI the Arabian peninsula has some Christians and Jews, that is for sure, they played a significant rule in the history of islam. Actually the first man who assured Mohamed peace be upon him that the revelations he got were from God and that he is the last prophet was a christian scholar. A large number of christians and jews were the first to convert to islam. I don't expect you to know all that based on a couple of lines you read in school. When you read the history of islam you will be amazed by how muslims made sure that every piece of info is certified and checked very well. Even if it sounded like it can be used against islam. I don't actually understand the part that says that islam is not a religion but a political system! Islam as christianity and judism came from the same God , how would that be a political system? Thanks
