An Impossible Task

Reader comment on item: The Islamic States of America?

Submitted by Betsy Ross (United States), Sep 23, 2004 at 18:13

Your article has well outlined this problem that faces all western nations, including the US...The problem is...how to approach it effectively....The Saudis are dumping untold millions into our educational system, schools are gladly promoting islam in a manner that would have brought 'gasps' were any other religion embraced with such enthusiasm....our biggest barrier to effectively combatting this situation is liberalized/PC...

I have been reading your articles right along..and I think...by you calling them militant islamists....you are isolating the 'bad' guys from the rest of Muslims...But why should we do that?....Don't all muslims have the same goal...to rule with islam?
Why let the moderates off the hook?...Militant Islam is fascism, a political movement....and the moderates are overcome by the militants anyway...look at how the sufi clerics are being pushed out of bosnia, chechynia, etc...in favor of wahabbi clerics...

i believe we have to tackle the problem head on....meaning NO PC....you can't play fast and loose with something so important....we HAVE TO START TEACHING HISTORY AGAIN.....Lebanon is the last country taken by muslims...besides...muslims refuse to believe western historical accounts...but they are the foundations of what we are...why not USE history to TEACH what will happen if we don't learn from it?.....

Many Muslims are quick to assert that the Israelis are occupiers....But haven't Muslims been occupying the middle east? What happened after all to the Chaldeans, Babylonians, Assyrians, etc....and aren't Muslims occupying lebanon? Why allow them to hold all the arguments to use against us?

I thoroughly enjoy watching you on c-span and reading your articles...but I wish you were "out there" more on "mainstream" media! I don't know how you will do it, but it's gotta be done by someone...and you are the most eloquent speaker on the subject I have seen....you and Kenneth =Ttimmerman....Open debates would be interesting if you can find an imam willing to confront the truth in front of cameras.....

in closing i say....keep up the impossible task!
