Reader comment on item: The Islamic States of America?

Submitted by Ira Laufer (United States), Sep 24, 2004 at 12:38

Whether there are 5% or 20% of radical Muslims that we can list as enemies is immaterial. There are plenty of them. Most Americans believe that. Most also are frustrated in knowing that "armed might" isn't an answer to terrorism. It will be fighting Vietnam again minus the jungle but on a larger battlefield or battlefield(s). Who and where is the enemy? It certainly wasn't Iraq. That's the minor leagues compared to the real dangers.

The enemies have been fomented by the radical Islamic elements in Saudi Arabia. We can't ignore the reports that they have become so powerful in Saudi Arabia that they have been appeased by "The Princes" to take over elements of the educational system, thereby guaranteeing that present and future generations will learn a slanted version of history that depicts the U.S. and Israel as the devil.

Almost all of the 9-11 terrorists were Saudis.

It is also fact that they have raised huge sums of money from private Saudis (either willingly or by blackmail) and are that allows them to be principal exporters of the hatred.

To win a war, one must decide who the enemy is and go after them. It has to start with the Saudis. If not done soon then it will be too late to destroy the "root". It will have regerminated in too many places.

Oil should not be the determinant of the real war and where the enemy lives.
