I am sorry I have not noted your question until now. I have to a large extent given up on this site - unless it is to respond directly to something that Mr. Pipes has written - very often I agree with him so I haven't been hitting the site. My other reason being that "civility, reason and logic" are for the most part missing on both sides of the arguments. Usually what I see are rants, false accusations, horrid history, even worse understanding of almost any religion and frankly people just flat out lying either through ignorance or because they merely wish to push their agenda. However in response to your question.

I'm not sure where the italicized comments you refer to comer from (as I say haven't been here in awhile), regardless - the speaker apparantly feels the need to defend the "Prophet" who really doesn't need any defense anymore than any other religious leader - at least not a physical defense.

Do you recall the uproar in the US when an art show in New York had the piece -"pissed on Christ" - the Christian's went ballastic - they didn't blow up things and attack people- but I am quite sure there were many who wish too, however that is not our culture. For the Muslim the whole religion is a way of life and must be defended- however as their culture changes this to will change - what we see now in the middle east is a culture being dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century - as childish as it seems I believe this kind of behavior will come to an end and as an old man I believe it will come to an end in my lifetime-

As to response - I would point out that just because the media doesn't report it doesn't mean their is not condemnation - I would point out that the high clerics of Egypt have condemned such actions and have used the Koran to condemn them - do not confuse the sect of Wahabbism with the religion of Islam-as I have said many times we do not need to make enemies of the majority because of the behavior of the few.

Again I apologize for the long response time actually someone wrote something I received in the E-mail and ws just reviewing when I saw your post. The delay was quite unintentional.
