um, excuse me--what facts?

in response to reader comment: Only Facts Tell the Truth

I hate to break your bubble, but your breathing example is not a "continuation" of my reasoning. It bears no relation to my reasoning at all. If you're breathing, you're alive. But if you go to a mosque, have Muslim friends/relatives, have yourself registered in grade school as a Muslim, and wear clothes that ignorant people regard as "Muslim," you're not necessarily a Muslim (any more than if your middle name is "Hussein"). What you are is someone on the receiving end of a lot of prejudice, by people with more time on their hands than knowledge.

Maybe you are created by the trappings of your life, but not everyone is as superficial as that. A person can grow up surrounded by people of one faith, get along with those people, even go to their places of worship, etc. etc. and yet not espouse their faith. Not exactly a profound or complex fact, but a fact nonetheless.
