A Red Herring?

Reader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood

Submitted by Larry B. (United States), May 8, 2008 at 20:07

Mr Obama's childhood in a muslim home and community may or may not have influenced his upbringing. What is truly startling is the (Christian Church) he is currently attending, who,s pastor is a vitriolic hater of America. If this is an example of the reverse racism preached in black community Churches, then my question to Obama would be, what difference is there in the rev. Wright's diatribe against the country as compared to the islamic community's hatred of all things american?

Methinks we are chasing a ghost while we should be seriously looking at churches that preach racial hatred in America, White or Black. The voice of one man can influence many be it for good or bad. If Obama's Church puts up with the rev. Wrights anti American drivel, it is fair, for us to believe that they agree with him. For his part, Obama did not reject the rev wrights comments until they became public. That was a big mistake on his part. The rev Wright has adopted the same manifesto as that preached by farrakan of the muslim community.
