"...and yet I see a real and refreshing sincerity in him."

But what you experience as sincerity is only his ability to present a speech well. It's not sincerity. It's slick. He is anything but sincere, and you will be greatly disappointed if he is elected.

Just for starters, do you really think it's within the range of "the usual politicians lies" that he regularly attended Trinity United Church where the pastor is blatantly Anti-American -- who says we deserved 9-11, shouts "God Damn America!," has expressed extremely anti-white and anti-semitic views -- for 20 years! brought his children there for "spritual guidance" and donated almost $20,000 a year, and then stated that he had "no idea," that he "never heard" any of those sermons? Is that particular lie not important? Both that he had such a close association with such a Church and Pastor, and that he tried to get people to believe he didn't know what was being preached? Is that sincere?

People like to hear him chant, "Yes, We Can!" It's so fun. He has a kind of "charisma" and speaks well (when it's pre-written). He's playing on emotions. So many, many people who support him, when asked about his past accomplishments, or specifically what his policies are, can only mouthe generalizations... "he wants to make things better." What is that? Whenever he gets down to a specific issue or plan, he totally flubs it, then has to back up.

Although he speaks about Americans becoming more frugal and careful of what they consume, about the poor state of the economy, he never mentions that he voted for a bill which would commit (force) Americans to pay $750 billion (that's 3/4 of a Trillion) to the UN Global Poverty Fund -- Over and Above What We Already Are Paying! (And we already donate more than the rest of the world combined!) He never has talked about it. The Press doesn't cover it. It's dishonest and certainly not sincere to keep this from the public awareness. It's important.

Please refer to my response here to WIM, dated today, called "To Responding Liar. Lesson on Lying and the Lies and Deceptions of Obama."

Please also see Janet's May 2nd comments here "Obama, In His Own Words."

Aside from being duplicitious about his plans, there are good indications that he will be incompetent, as he does not do the research or get the appropriate information before making policy decisions, and too often has to awkwardly try to rescind or change what he said.

Please see my post, "Analyzing Obama, The Teenage Presidential Candidate," for the fearful reactions of our allies, the UN, and other nations to his thoughtless words.

Also, here is a long list of Obama's current falsehoods. Some of them you may think important, some not.

Please read what people are writing about here on this blog, well beyond the one issue of his deception regarding his childhood upbringing, and please re-consider your opinion of Obama.

P.S. In today's world, it's not at all "paranoid" or "prejudiced" for Americans to question where individual Muslims stand politically. Only those whose heels are dug so deep into the earth, pretending that the world is and will be whatever their dreams tell it to be, no matter the facts of reality, would insist that there are no dangerous threats. It would be ridiculously naiive not to pay close attention. For example
