Reader comment on item: Barack Obama's Muslim Childhood
in response to reader comment: Statements are made by academics and journalists and people take them as fact and don't have all day to research or just know what is or isn't true

Krista - I went to the link you sent - 1.5billion seems to be about right perhaps a little low. And you rightly imply a minority of that number makes for a big minority. But the point my friend that I try to make is to know your enemy. The 1.5 billion is not your enemy find the number of Wahabi's there are in the world, the number of Muslims who attend schools that teach that particular sect of Islam. It is different than the rest. If we catagorize all of the Muslim's as Wahabbi then we miss out on natural allies within that community that could be helpful to us in our struggle against this particular group.

I object to the broad catagorization of the word "Muslim" as an inherent insult or negative approbation. I object to it not becaue I'm a sensitive guy or because I'm an apologist for Islam - I object to it because it is intellectually dishonest and a strategic mistake. You seem to have a great interest in the subject and a fear of the people - and I truly do understand that. But the way to; one overcome the fear and two oppose that which should be opposed is to learn about it - not just hate it.

I am not a young man nor am I an old codger yet - but I have lived long enough to hear these generalized hate statements against a group of people for a very long time, whether it be blacks, asians, russians (they will destroy us from within) heard that lately - I don't ask you to love your enemies I ask you to know who they are.
