sTs, let's be brutally honest. Few people live on lands that were originally theirs. Muslims and Christians live on lands that weren't originally theirs, either, and they are johnny-come-latelys to the world scene in the grand scheme of things.

Culture and religion, once lubricants for societies, have become pocks as they attempt to dominate. No one is any better than anyone else, in that regard. We have our own "taliban" here in the U.S.--they just happen to be mostly Christian extremists at the moment. They may have evolved their behavior in some ways over that of the dark and middle ages, but they are still driven by indoctrination, just like extremists of other cultures.

I personally think all of the ancient religions are obsolete and need to be replaced by vibrant new ones that are not steeped in the mind-control of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Those three I consider the most dangerous of the ancient religions, because they all teach their children that they are right and others are doomed. We need to get past that--we need religion that doesn't evoke hatred, condemnation, and rigidity. They continue to focus on myth, metaphor, allegory, and clever cultural controllers from times long ago.

I don't think the entire situation can really be mended until we move past the ancient, see through belief and mind-control, and determine how we all can live in relative peace without continuing to focus our attention on ancient men who were clever enough to write books that left them as the ubercontrollers of the world and the direct link to the supernatural.

The earlier South Americans feel about the Spaniards as the earlier North Americans feel about the British, as the earlier Indians feel about the Arabs, as the earlier Palistinians feel about the Jews. They all wish they'd stayed wherever they came from. But that's not working, is it?
