If these were good economic times I would say maybe a military operation against Iraq would be a possibility. However, with a US economy tanking and exacerbated by sky-rocketing oil prices, this would be a particularly poor time for action against Iran. Can you imagine what the price of gasoline would jump to not to mention the shortages and long lines to fill up.

Plus, world wide shortages would irate the Chinese among others. The Russians, on the other hand, with substantial reserves of their own would make out like bandits and then Putin could buy the Chrysler Building!
