Don't sell Obama short

Reader comment on item: Prepare to attack [Iran]

Submitted by john w mcginley (United States), Jun 11, 2008 at 19:07

Obama has clearly indicated that he will not permit Iran to become nuclear. Iran is still at least a year or more away from producing one or two actual weapons.

Obama's strategy of agressive diplomatic engagement will be backed up by the message that the United States -- in concert with Israel -- will take military action to preclude Iran from actually producing a deliverable nuclear weapon. Maybe the agressive engagement strategy will work. Maybe it won't, in which case I have every confidence that Obama will take effective military action. Iran willl not be permitted to go nuclear.
