America's "addiction" is not to oil, but to progress and a better life for America and the World. The fact that we have to be beholden to a bunch of Saudi thugs for our oil is the fault of the Leftist American thugs who restrain American Oil companies from drilling for and processing American reserves, of which we have an abundant supply. That would make American oil less expensive, and keep billions of dollars out of the Wahhabi terror subsidizers, but the Democrats don't care about cheap energy as long as it will give them something to blame their opponents in order to maintain their hold on power.

Nevertheless, even if we could take the Saudis out of the picture, Iran would remain a primary danger, because it is expansionist, devious, determined and very actively pursuing the means to dominate the region and destabilize the USA. When it will happen, I don't know, but I do guarantee that America WILL have to fight Iran/Persia at some point. If we don't initiate it, they they will. It is inevitable, thanks to Jimmy Carter and his advisers, who are btw the same ones Obama is embracing for their "council" on the Middle East.
