I think you have a good heart, but you believe a lie, perhaps the greates lie in the history of mankind: islam.

Dear Lenn, it is not a lie, however Muslims around the world are hungry for worldly life and they do lie alot.

I am so sorry for you that you have thus closed your heart to the one and only God.
My heart is opened by One True God who is creator of you and me.

'Allah' is one of many pagan gods (no. 600 something)
Dear Lenn, could you provide reference to this.

and it was decided to choose just one god to establish Islam as a religion.
Dear Lenn, could you provide reference to this.

Allah is the moon god.
Allah to whom I pray is the creator of moon.

If islam provides for a simple (good??) life, why is it then that throughout the islamic world, women are being abused
I believe there is no system of justice around the world. Dear Lenn, there are 2000 rapes in USA alone per day.

, suppressed,
define suppress

Women are weak and I could provide you statistics that they are killed everywhere in the world.

forced to bear children all their life,
Are you talking about abortion support?

forced to hide behind ugly tent-like coats
This is something not prescribed by Quran and Mohammad (May peace be upon him). It is a custom of Afghan. However, covering the face of woman is a subject of discussion among Islamic scholars. However my point of view is that woman should dress modestly.

and veils,
Not a mandatory.

being circumcised, etc.?
Female genitalia mutilation (FGC) is not explicitly endorsed in the Qur'an. See my post http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/102519.

I believe that the Afghan men are living rather simple lives, at least compared to us Westerners, and yet they slaughter each other and others.
You are right. They kill each other for worldly gains. However they are not following teachings of Quran of simple life. By simple life means, simple heart and not living in cave. Even with simple heart, one can live in Paris and could be non reactive.

How come, if a simple life provides for calm and peace?
Again Dear Lenn, by simple I mean ego less personality who only thinks in terms of justice in affairs and matters with other humans.

Why don't you see similar atrocities all over the Jewish and Christian world? Or the buddhist world?
Don't you remember combined 69 Million people were died in World War 2. To Susan: I murder a SINGLE human unjustly, I killed the WHOLE humanity. (> 69 Million people!). See my post http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/102014

You need to take a good look at the Bible and compare it with the teachings of the person Muhammad, who you seem to believe was a peace-creator.
I tell you what, I compared and found both in line. That is making more and more people non reactive and ego less souls.

Why does his deeds not reflect this? Even 1400 yrs after his death?
See my other posts. People living in Western countries don't know the calamity caused by their interest based Banks. http://www.danielpipes.org/comments/102522.

My love to you.
