Reader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone

How are we gonna get more moderate voices in the Muslim world? By encouraging more people like Sir Salman Rushdie to criticize his faith and the politics of their nation. Rushdie has been a brave man since that book was released in 1988, and he deserves accolades for being one to stand up and make an example that Muslims aren't the brain-washed suicidal morons some people (including a good many here) think they are.

And note to the Iranians and Pakistanis - the world already doesn't think terribly highly of you, you might want to let this go, because all Rushdie did was write a book and people didn't care for the people murdered by angry rioters after the Pope's comments......
