"This, of course, would still be considered paedophilia in modern times".

There were three parties involved in this marriage:

A) Prophet Mohammad (May peace and blessing on him)
B) Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqah (Razi Allah Talah Anhuma)
C) Her father Abu Bakr Siddiq (Razi Allah Talah Anhu)

All of them were very happy and lived a satisfied life. So a very successful marriage.

Age of 9 was the age of Puberty for Hazrat Ayesha Siddiqah (Razi Allah Talah Anhuma) and marrying women after Puberty is permitted.

Left alone modern times, I would say modern times encourages the concept of living together or sex before marriage etc. So it is the people of the times that are needed to be corrected not the Holy Prophets.

My love to you.

Syed Rafey Husain
