Where do the children learn?

Reader comment on item: The Rot in Our [Canadian] Universities

Submitted by James Macek (United States), Jan 31, 2003 at 09:16

One has always relied upon the universities for being places of higher learning and instruction, but this has changed. It seems that they have annointed themselves (in most cases), as being institutions of higher consciousness, and have strayed far from being institutions that promote thoughts and opinions from ALL sides, but rather, have polluted the waters of deep thinking with currents coming from one spring, rather than all springs.

This must stop! What do we do?

I, for one, am taking a much more active role in knowing who serves as the regents and administrators of our state-run colleges and universities. I will not, as I've done in the past, give donations and support in the name of "doing what's right for the students." any longer, as the students must be held accountable for their behavior as well.

Our education system is diseased, and we must get actively involved to find the cure, before it's too late!
