Communist vs. Racist

Reader comment on item: The Rot in Our [Canadian] Universities

Submitted by GCC (United States), Jan 31, 2003 at 12:39

About two generations back, if you really wanted to smear a person, all you had to do was to label him a "communist" and he had an albatross about his neck for many years to come.
If you want to do the same today, "communist" won't do since the U.S.S.R. is no more. So, what's a defamer to do? Simple. Smear the person with a "racist" label and it'll stick to him like glue to paper!
