How can we help?

Reader comment on item: The Rot in Our [Canadian] Universities

Submitted by Bill Hadney (United States), Jan 31, 2003 at 21:34

Thank you, Daniel, for once again keeping us perfectly informed of the truth. We certainly have small chance of getting it from the media today as thoroughly as you report, if at all.

Some of us need to understand exactly how we can help increase awareness of this problem, and to do so in ways that will have real impact. Can you lay out an action plan we can each peacefully pursue, or at the very least suggest the two or three most productive steps we can take to promote awareness?

Grousing about this and other similar problems is leaving me with an empty feeling in the face of the growing threat. I'd like to act on it in a meaningfully way.

Daniel Pipes replies:

My basic message is that each stakeholder - alumni, trustees, parents, legislators, and others - take interest, organize, and regain control over these errant institutions. The details will differ in each case, so I am staying away from specifics.
