Dr. Pipes' double standard

Hello,

I am glad that Daniel Pipes was able to deliever his speech at York University and I agree with him that freedom of speech is the most important factor in academic institutions. But if my memory serves me right, I also remember that in September 2002, Dr. Pipes delivered a powerful speech for a group of demonstrators at University of Colorado to stop Palestinian academic Hanan Ashrawi from speaking at that campus. Wasn't Ms. Ashrawi also entitled to the same "freedom of speech for minority opinions" that Dr. Pipes is requesting now?

No, I was there to rebut Ashrawi, as you can read at http://www.danielpipes.org/article/469. There was much upset over her, with her views, being the featured on the first anniversary of 9/11, not her speaking in principle at Colorado College.
