Islamic slaveryReader comment on item: Saudis Import Slaves to America Submitted by rick (United States), Apr 24, 2006 at 13:05 Saudi Arabia, a country which abolished slavery in 1962 only because of Western pressure to do so, has not truly renounced the keeping of slaves. Now, domestics face a slave like existence with absolutley no recourse as official governmental agencies view things from - surprise surprise - the Saudi point of view. The concerns of Philipina or other non-Mulsim "maids" are simply of no importance to the authorities. I feel so sorry for these women from ther Phillipines who must leave their won families for years due to economic necessity to work for abusive and demanding Saudi masters.
