Phil, funny how you guys can say these things when Americans treated blacks as slaves and even many asians....This is why Malcolm X became a muslim...he went on pilgrimage to Makkah and saw that everyone is dressed in white and all people were mixture of whites, blacks, asians, chinese, japanese. Some very rich and some horribly poor and yet all were standing side by side and praying to God. This was what he found so amazing and realised after reading the Quran what the true teachings of Islam were...basically that all people are equal...and you should worship one God and basically be a good person.

To the contrary, in the Islamic holy book Quran it says ' No white is better than a black person and no black person is better than a white. No arab is better than a non arab and no non arab is better than an arab. In god's eyes it is the piety in a persons heart that matters'

This is TRUE ISLAM for you. teaching equality between all races and love and mercy. It does not teach to put women down or treat other people as slaves...but yes slaves have always existed and a person is allowed to keep a slave/servant but only if they treat them good and well...feed them, clothe them etc. Cannot beat or abuse them.

If there are sick sick people who abuse, rape and torture their slaves and servants then those people cannot be true muslims.

I have lived in saudi arabia for a year and have heard of such stories happening there, as they happen in many many other countries....and it is horrible and those people will be punished by God in the same way. but Islam in no way teaches to hurt beat rape people etc.

America has always been beating, killing, torturing black people for decades and yet they now act righteous and decide other people are the ones who do these things and try to make them bad in the eyes for the world. I could say about the white people that they are all racists who have always only used people from other countries as slaves because for some strange reason they think they are superior. A woman in America is raped every 3 seconds....another person from another country could well say, all americans are rapists and murderers....and yet I know from my christian friends and myself believing that bible was a book of God before it was all changed to suit peoples needs...that true christianity also taught peace and love.

I believe there are good and bad in every religion and country and you should not judge by what you see some people doing. Islam and prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in no way taught hurting people physically or EVEN emotionally which is unheard of in other religions but yes islam is strict even about hurting peoples feelings....so maybe you should investigate true islam rather than people that you see or making things up as you hear or see in the media...or believe things just because other people believe them and because it makes you popular to think islam is a barbaric religion ....
