Reader comment on item: Saudis Import Slaves to America
in response to reader comment: funny... you know what?

You are missing the point my girl. Nobody claimed all Saudi's are bad or bad employers. I have seen Saudi's being very good to the employees. But we can't say this is not happening!! How on earth are we going to stop this. Like you said if you want to read - read all. From where I stand officials don't. How many cases were reported in the last two years that made the newspapers? What about those that never tell, and those newspapers are not allowed to report about. My concern is that women cover as much up as men. And this doesn't just happen in Saudi but all around the world. And the more we make as if's not happening the more we give free tickets to those that abuse! This includes women. I don't think knowing a person is a guarantee that he/she will not abuse... this is normally done in secrecy. Expose those that abuse - call and insist on it. If I was a Saudi I would have asked for this. Then the world will not assume all Saudi's are guilty of abuse but see a small minority. Enough is enough!!

To claim that the Sri Lanken maid was not abused from where I stand looks like a cover up. I'm sorry but it does. First of all her country can not afford to support her because 1000 might lose their jobs - and most are employed working for Good Saudi' people. They would rather let this die a slow death, or worst she will be a marked woman ( I read she was a witch, she got money how could she have fooled passport control etc... - has anyone considered to investigate the couple's previous employees, children, family members because I doubt that if this was true - that she would be the only or first one.
