Reader comment on item: Saudis Import Slaves to America

Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Jun 16, 2005 at 09:32

It is not the first time I hear about people being enslaved by the Saudis.

An Indian friend of mine told me a horror story about his childhood in Saudi Arabia: a man tried to kidnap him and push him into his car to turn him into a sex-slave. My friend, then 7 year-old, miraculously escaped.

He would have been a sex-slave for the rest of his life. I have heard that Philippino workers are often raped and enslaved in Saudi households.

I have then heard that rich Saudis go to India in order to get poor Indian children who will then become slave labourers in their households.

I know that slavery has been tolerated in the Muslim world for a long time. A lot of foreigners are enslaved in Saudi Arabia.

There are different kinds of slavery: unpaid labour is just one type. A lot of these slaves get raped.

What I didn't know is that the Saudis import slaves to America.

All of these issues go back to the same common denominator: immigration and VISAs.

Saudis shouldn't get VISAs for the United States.

Stop giving out VISAs to Saudis and other Middle-Easterns.

It is time to get serious about immigration control. We have got the same problem in Europe.

How about sending these Saudi slave-owners back to Saudi Arabia?

This is Octavio's simple guide to solve the problem of the Saudis importing slaves to America:

1) don't give out VISAs to Saudis (and other Muslims)

2) deport Saudis who are already living in the United States.

3) Strip these Saudi slave-owners of the American citizenship (if they have it)

4) Create a special governmental office to deal with the victims of Saudi slavery

5) Start rounding up Muslim clerics who justify slavery

6) Empower some government agents to keep an eye on Saudis living in America

7) Double-check all flight passengers arriving from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

8) Inspect the houses of Saudi citizens living in the United States

9) Put them on a plane

10) Kiss them good-bye
