Reader comment on item: How Terrorism Obstructs Radical Islam

Submitted by Darwin Barrett (United States), Aug 23, 2005 at 20:03

The world war against the infidels is not a western style planned and structured assault. It is a Dis-integrated phenomenon, united only by the qur'an and hadith as understood by disparate groups and individuals. The goal for each individual is to achieve paradise by any means. Jihad is holy war, and is mandated for all muslims, but it is waged by each according to his ability. Some fight, some politic, some lie, some commit criminal acts against the infidels, some cover up, some obstruct, some infiltrate, some recruit, some train, and some just try to create an image of peace. The goal of islamism is to dominate the world; to convert, subjugate, or eliminate all the infidels. This goal may have seemed far-fetched a few decades ago, but today, with a population measuring somewhere between one fifth and one fourth of the world, success appears a reasonable possibility.

The violent aspect serves several distinct purposes. In areas with high percentages of muslims or weak governments it will cause the governing body to collapse. In areas with strong governments and/or low precentages of muslims it gives an opportunity for the fifth column muslims to politic, play the press, and gain support. Organized war serves several purposes. It unites the muslims and divides the citizens of the attacking country. Saddam attacked Kuwait to suck us in to a war. He defied us to suck us back in to war. Ahmed Chalabi conned us into believing there were WMD in Iraq. These acts were jihad, most likely uncoordinated. Weak countries will fall to the sword, and strong countries will be changed slowly from within until the muslims gain enough control to assert their power through violence. The US will eventually lose the will to fight and the economic force to support a war. Then the muslims politic will offer the shari'a as a solution.

Will the US wake up before it is too late, or, like the frog, slowly succumb to the ever increasing heat of the boiling water?
