Reader comment on item: How Terrorism Obstructs Radical Islam
in response to reader comment: islam is a peaceful religion

Here are some facts for John Bastille to consider.

Do not accept at face value the statements by Muslims on this site. They are unlikely to have read the early Islamic sources of what actually happened, or if they have , they have concealed their knowledge. It is a total embarrassment to any thinking and compassionate human being.

The attack on Mecca was only to be "peaceful" if there was no resistance! I'm sure the (claimed Christian- they were not acting in accord with the teaching of Jesus nor the Christian New testament writings) crusaders would have taken Jerusalem "peacefully" if there had been no resistance!
That is illogical.

Here are records from early Islamic sources that set out the true position. The early Islamic sources mention the conquering of Jerusalem!

Some of Quaysh and B. Bakr combine against Khuzaa' (in treaty with Mohammad) and killed some men.

Mohammad orders taking of Mecca. (I call it the first Islamic crusade)

Mohammad instructed his commanders to fight only those who resisted, except for a small number to be killed even if they sought sanctuary in the Ka'ba. e.g Abdullah b. Sa'd an apostate who had written down some of the Koranic "revelations". (He was a danger to Mohammad because he knew the Koran was Mohammad's invention, not the word of God. He had recorded many "changes, which contradicted earlier "revelations" so he knew the Koran was designed to fit and justify Mohammad's actions). He had earlier sought immunity from Mohammad and Mohammad remained silent, but later told his companions he had expected them to behead Abdullah! What a peaceful man Mohammad was!
Another was Abdullah b. Khatal, another apostate, whose girls used to sing satirical songs about Mohammad. Mohammad ordered them to be killed also. (Subsequently one girl was killed and the other given immunity).
Others were
• Al-Hurwayrith b. Naqaydh who had insulted him in Mecca
• Sara, a free slave who insulted him in Mecca also (later given immunity)
• Miqyas b. Hubaka who had killed an Ansari (who killed his brother by accident). He returned to the Quraysh as a polytheist. (Miquas's sister said after he was killed that her brother had provided food for mothers in hard times).

Mohammad said it was not lawful to shed blood in Mecca but if it happened (it did!), it was lawful for Mohammad because of God's anger against the people of Mecca! This was his excuse for the killing of innocents in Mecca.

Mohammad sent troop s(soldiers!) out in the area surrounding Mecca "inviting" men to God. Khalid killed some and told others to lay down their arms and accept Islam.
Mohammad prayed he was innocent of Khalid's actions (he obviously felt guilty as he sent Khalid out knowing full well his reputation for killing. An analogous action to that of Pontius Pilate's attempt to cover up his complicity in the killing of Jesus).

Hopefully you can see the Muslim statements about peace are simply convenient inventions.
Jesus said he who is on the side of truth listens to me (Jesus). I do.
