The non-violent followers of Islam accept the benefits of the violence

Reader comment on item: How Terrorism Obstructs Radical Islam

Submitted by W (United States), Aug 23, 2005 at 12:23

Mr. Pipes,

Your article was silent on the killing of Theo Van Gogh and its effect. The spread of fear plus peaceful activities are the power of Islam. And, the killing of Baha'i in Iran, Hindu in India, trials for defection from Islam, and death threats to Salman Rushdie and others who criticize Islam are openly made and rarely renounced by any of them. This article was well written as usual, but appears to be too soft.

Have I misunderstood your audience or your purpose?

Submitted in the spirit of concern rather than to create doubt or apprehension.
